This bedroom was redesigned for the parents of a young family. Previously the bedroom lacked any depth or texture. The room was a mix of colours and woods making it feel in-cohesive and incomplete. The clients wanted a space they could make their own, that felt separate from the rest of the house.
The overall design for the room was inspired by a favourite print, placed above the bed. Using the image as inspiration, a soft blue was chosen for the walls. This made the room feel instantly fresher and added some depth to the space. The pitched ceiling was a perfect excuse to make a canopy above the bed. This helped to define the bed space and made the overall space to feel more intimate. Texture was added through the variety of bedding fabric and patterns.
